Bio
Who is Colin Le Fevre?
I’m 25 years old and a grad from Wilfrid Laurier University where I majored in History and minored in Political Science. Throughout my years in school I was heavily involved in extra curricular activities including being a student Senator, Director and Treasurer of the Laurier Students’ Public Interest Research Group, Chair of the Board for Wilfrid Laurier University Student Publications, a Director for the Students’ Union, and most recently was the Students’ Union President.
My passion in life is politics. I love watching politics, reading about politics, and most of all getting involved in politics. The 24 hour news channels are often the background noise for my life. I love to read the Globe and Mail, The Economist, The Onion (and yes, even though it’s fake), various blogs, and really anything I find interesting that keeps me in the loop. Also, you will generally find me glued to my Blackberry or my MacBook. I thrive on the technology that keeps me informed. I’m also a large proponent of the power of social media to engage and inform citizens.
Outside of those things I love the Toronto Argonauts and Toronto Maple Leafs (who I still say will win the cup in my lifetime), museums, and musical theatre. Another love of mine is Canadian music. Some of the best artists in the world are Canadian – The Tragically Hip, Great Big Sea, The Weakerthans, and the Barenaked Ladies to name a few. On television besides the news I can’t resist watching The Daily Show and The Mercer Report, as well as How I Met Your Mother, Mad Men, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Glee, and The Office to name just a few.
I love being an informed citizen and being active in my community. I can never deny the fact that I have very eclectic tastes and interests.
-Colin
